Radhika - Sanskrit for the “Embodiment of Love”.
From India to Africa to the UK and now the USA, Radhika is personally and artistically a result of three generations of women who ventured far to seek a new life. In the old days you would say gypsies or travellers. Today you would use the word “immigrant”,
Trained in classical piano and vocals, Radhika has performed for and recorded with Nitin Sawnhey, Grammy award winning Eddie Palmieri, Prince and many more. She was lead singer in Franco Dragone’s INDIA INDIA in Germany, working closely with America’s Got Talent Director Brian Burke (‘La Reve’, and Celine Dion’s ‘One Fine Day’) and the creative teams from Cirque. She sang in Tamil, Hindi, Bengali and English, performing live a staggering minimum of eight shows a week for a run of six months. Radhika also wrote the show stopping number ‘De L’ombre a la Lumiere’ for Kamel Ouali’s “Cleopatre” - the most successful theatrical spectacular in Europe. She also joined musicians from around the globe on stage at the Art of Living Silver jubilee Celebrations in Bangalore to an audience of one million people.
Now residing in Los Angeles, her latest project HER DEPARTURE is an subtle yet powerful nod to her Indian and African roots which can be heard through her vocal experimentation upon electronic, pop and cinematic productions. Along with familial flavours of folk music from Scandinavian and Celtic traditions HER DEPARTURE is empowering, deeply feminine, and driven by a championing of what it means to be human, witnessing and living in the world today. Incorporating the leaning towards a spiritual path and truly a reflection of who she is and what the rising female spirit wants to say Radhika can bring into the room a vocal style of another world.
As well as an avid yogi, Radhika most recently won the Global Peace Song Awards 2017 for her songs “Awake” and “Act of God” and is a musical ambassador for Project Peace on Earth and for global initiative Round Table Global as well being passionate about raising awareness for causes such an child abandonment in Nepal.
