Joe Asselin is a central Illinois musician based out of Champaign IL. He is a multi Instrumentalist that specializes in Guitar and Harmonica. Currently Joe is working on his next album which will be more Country Blues and Traditional Blues Songs as well some original classic country. Joe currently performs as a solo acoustic artist, fronts his trio band “Joe Asselin and The Moonlight Ramblers” and is a hired Instrumentalist for:

Throughout the past 20 years Joe has performed throughout the country and has had international success through his previous bands “Kilborn Alley Blues Band” 2000-2009 as their Harmonica Player and Co-op song writing and “The Sugar Prophets” 2010-2015 as their lead and rhythm guitarist along with song writing credentials.
While performing with “Kilborn Alley” Joe received nominations for the International known Blues Music Awards (previously known as WC Handy Awards). Those nominations included

As well nominations and awards from Blues Blast Awards. Kilborn Alley still performs throughout the world and routinely tours throughout European Countries. Asselin still performs with the Alley boys when they are in need of his services which now include: Slide Guitar, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar and Harmonica.
While performing with “The Sugar Prophets” Joe performed Lead and Rhythm Guitar and co op song writing credentials. The Prophets made the finals for the International Blues Challenge in which they beat out the competition of over 150 world wide bands to become one of the top 8 in the year 2011. As a solo acoustic artist Joe has released one acoustic album on the social media platform called “Blue Genes” which reached number 21 on the ITunes chart the day of release in April of 2016. As well he has performed 5 times at the International Blues Challenge as both solo acoustic artist and band Challenge.
Currently Joe is heavily concentrating on writing Originals influenced by classic Country Blues like Jerry Reed, Merle Travis, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash. His current “Joe Asselin and The Moonlight Ramblers” perform in the central Illinois area such as Decatur and Champaign IL.
Asselin is an multi-Instrumentalist that performs all spectrums of music which allows him to experiment different aspects of styles as well adds his own flavor of music in each endeavor
